SCADA
March 14th, 2007SCADA is a system for collection of data from sensors and data providers and managing that data. SCADA is actually an acronym that stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, although many people who use the term don’t actually know that.
Parts of a SCADA system include the signal input and output hardware, controllers, and user interfaces (HMI or Human Machine Interface). The parts of a SCADA system can be local, or located in remote locations such as other countries.
SCADA finds applications in such areas as climate control, nuclear power plant control, and mass transit systems and roadways.
